In "The Ambient Life", Freeband Communication and IIPIC share with you a vision of the future: a world in which information & communication technology renders peoples surroundings into a thinking and caring environment. The film contains results of the Freeband Communication research programme.

Valorization

Freeband is a unique BSIK program with an active consortium of industry and academia working together on a day to day basis. This cooperation yields practical results with a sound academic foundation. Freeband stimulates the uptake of results by means of valorization-projects. But why did they start valorization, what is/was the impact for their company and which organizations can benefit? And last but not least, when will it be a success?

Living Labs

‘Fit for use’ and ‘personalised’ are the main trends for devices, products and services. But how do we know what people really want, with the specific demands of the daily-life context in which the products are used? With current ICT technology  people can be involved in innovation projects on a large scale via mobile telephones, etc. Living Labs allow developers to discover what actually happens with their products in realistic settings.
